If you're a big event photographer, or like shooting event/candids the 28-70 f/2L is highly recommended. The RF 24-105 f/4L is also very capable, but if you're not shooting faster than f/4, the 28-70 f/2L, goes to waste. Side note, I'm a former EF 24-105 f/4L (first gen) owner.

I got a Canon EOS R5. It was a promotion last year where you got the 24-105mm RF for free when you buy a new R5 at a local dealer. I have the 50mm F1.8, the 24-105 F4.0 and the 100-500mm F4.5 I love the 100-500mm because i like to shoot animals and birds, we have a local Wildlife-Park pretty close to us.
Canon 24-105/4L isn't a particularly sharp lens, especially on telephoto end. By sharpness, it's comparable to Sony 24-240 in respective focal range.
